Saskatoon Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred last night.
At approximately 5:10 a.m., October 31, 2018, Saskatoon Police observed a male driving a Toyota Corolla in the intersection of Avenue W North and 33rd Street West. This male suspect was thought to be involved in a stabbing incident that occurred the previous night. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Idylwyld Drive North, near 51st Street. The driver’s identity was confirmed and he was arrested without incident.
A 40 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Undertaking. Further charges are pending as the Targeted Enforcement Unit continues to investigate.
The victim, a 25 year old man, not 35 as stated in the previous release, has been released from hospital. The suspect and victim are known to each other.
Saskatoon Police Service is currently investigating a stabbing that took place in the 500 block of Avenue X South just after 11:00 pm on October 30, 2018.
A 35 year old male was involved in an altercation with an individual that he knew, and they ended up stabbing him. The victim was transported to hospital by EMS in stable condition.
The incident is currently being investigated by Patrol Services and the Targeted Enforcement Unit of the Police Service.
