A 35-year-old man was arrested on warrants earlier this morning and is facing a new charge of Obstruction after giving a false name to a Police Officer.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., November 22, 2018, a Patrol officer conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot in the 100 block of 33rd Street West after observing a man inside a vehicle that was believed to have outstanding warrants. When approached by Officers, he provided a false name and refused to exit the vehicle when asked numerous times. Pepper spray was deployed, however was unsuccessful. Officers then successfully deployed a conducted energy weapon and the man was taken into custody without further incident.
The man was transported first to detention, and then to hospital as a precaution. He is charged with Obstruction and Breach of Probation. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
