One man was arrested last night after reportedly breaking into three separate industrial compounds.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., November 26, 2018, Patrol officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Speers Avenue for a report of a break and enter in progress. The complainant had observed two men on security cameras checking vehicles and looking into compounds. As officers were driving to the address, they observed two people believed to be hiding from Police inside of a compound in the 2200 block of Speers Avenue. Officers also located multiple holes cut through fences as well as footprints in the fresh snow. A Canine Unit responded and tracked a suspect to a hotel in the 100 block of Gateway Boulevard. Upon arrival, the Canine officer observed a male matching a suspect description exit the hotel. He was detained and a pair of bolt cutters were located in his backpack. Police also confirmed the boots he was wearing matched the prints they had been tracking. The second suspect was not located and no description is available at this time.
