Convenience Store Robbery

A 15 year old male is in custody following a armed robbery at a convenience store in the Dundonald neighborhood of Saskatoon today at noon hour. Police received a 911 call from the store employee indicating they had just been robbed at gunpoint by a male person wearing a mask to conceal his identity.

One of the police officers responding saw a suspicious male in the area who turned and fled on foot from the officer when about to be confronted. This officer gave chase and apprehended the suspect a short while later. A K9 article search was done in the area after which led to the recovery of the imitation firearm believed to have been used in the offence. Cash, cigarettes and the mask worn where found on the suspect.

The male is facing charges of robbery using an imitation firearm, committing an offence while having his face masked or disguised, and breach of his undertaking.

He will make his appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court tomorrow morning.
