A 67 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges following an investigation into crack cocaine trafficking.
The man was arrested following an investigation by members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST). On several occasions investigators witnesses activity consistent with drug trafficking in the area of a home in the 1000 block of 2nd Street East. On January 5, 2019 officers stopped a van that was leaving the home and arrested the 48 year old female driver who was found to be in possession of .2 grams of crack cocaine. Officers then arrested a male a short time later after he left the home in another vehicle. He was found to be in possession of cell phones and more than $400 cash. A search of the home on 2nd Street East resulted in officers locating 21.8 grams of crack cocaine, scales and other drug paraphernalia.
The 67 year old man is now facing charges of Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Crack Cocaine and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime. He is expected to appear today in Saskatoon Provincial Court. The 48 year old woman will appear in court at a later date.
SIDEST is an integrated unit made up of members of the Saskatoon Police Service and RCMP "F" Division.
