A 35-year-old man is facing charges after unlawfully confining another man earlier today.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., January 31, 2019, Police received a report that a man was being unlawfully confined and threats were being made to cause him harm. Police determined that the suspect and victim were in a vehicle and located it travelling eastbound on Stonebridge Common at Hartley Road. Police followed the vehicle, which was traveling at low speeds, to the 2900 block of Eastview, where the driver stopped and fled on foot. A Police Service Dog apprehended the man a short distance away. He sustained minor injuries consistent with dog bites.
The victim was located in the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
The 35-year-old man is facing charges of Unlawful Confinement, Threats to Cause Injury and Extortion.
This incident is not believed to be random.
