Traffic Restrictions - Collision - Circle Drive Near 33rd Street West

A 20 year old woman is facing three charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm following a single vehicle collision on December 14th, 2019. 

Four other people were occupants of the vehicle at the time of the collision, three of them suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services.

As the Collision Analyst Unit was investigating another vehicle approached the scene at freeway speeds, driving southbound in the northbound lanes.  At the last moment the vehicle attempted to avoid the collision area and then attempted to flee the scene before becoming blocked by barricades.  The 26 year old female driver of that vehicle was also found to be impaired.  She is facing a charge of impaired driving and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on January 14, 2020.

The traffic restrictions at 33rd St W and Circle Drive have been lifted.

The Saskatoon Police would like to thank the public for avoiding the area and finding alternate routes while officers investigated the collision.  At this time, alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.  

Saskatoon Police are on the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Circle Drive between 33rd Street and Airport Drive.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m., December 14, 2019. The Collision Analyst Unit is on scene and continuing to investigate the cause. Three people were initially transported to hospital. Two have since been released. The third remains in hospital in what is believed to be stable condition.

Due to the investigation, Circle Drive is closed in both directions between 33rd Street West and Airport Drive. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
