On the evening of June 28 the Saskatoon Police Service conducted Operation Overdrive at three different locations. Operation Overdrive targets Impaired Drivers but will do enforcement in other areas if violations are detected. Ten of the seventy four vehicles checked received twelve tickets. The violations included speeding and other violations contrary to the Traffic Safety Act. One charge contrary to the CDSA was laid as a result of a driver possessing marijuana. There were no impaired driving charges laid. Saskatoon Police Service will continue to conduct Operation Overdrive Spot Checks during 2007 at various locations in Saskatoon.
