Based on further investigation this morning and interviews with the victim involved, Police now believe a hit and run overnight was in fact accidental.
Police believe the woman was injured while trying to retrieve a backpack from the back of the truck involved. She got caught on the truck and fell underneath as the truck drove away. it is not believed, based on investigation by collision analysts at the scene and subsequent interviews with the victim and witnesses, that the woman was intentionally hurt.
It remains a hit and run investigation however, as the two men in the truck, believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, fled the scene. Police are asking them to come forward. The truck involved is described as a late 90's GMC extended cab half ton truck, with purple wave detailing on the side.
