Update-Agg Assault And Robbery 400 Blk Ave H South

At about 11:25 PM, August 24, 2007, police responded to the 400 block Ave H South regarding an assault. Upon arrival a 39 year old male was found suffering from injuries he received from an apparent beating. The victim was taken to Royal University Hospital where it was determined the injuries were potentially life threatening.

According to witness account, there were between 3 and 7 people involved in the attack and theft of personal property belonging to the victim.

At approximately 2:00 August 25th, Patrol Officers arrested 4 males in the area of Ave. Q and 22nd Street West on unrelated maters. Observations by the police at that time were that these men had similar descriptions to those who assaulted the male in the 400 blk. Ave. H South earlier in the evening.

After further investigation by Major Crime and Forensic Identification Members, one of the males arrested at Q and 22nd Street West was charged with Robbery with Violence and Aggravated Assault regarding the Avenue H assault.

The 21 year old suspect will see a Justice of the Peace later today. The investigation is continuing in an effort to identify the remaining men responsible for the assault and robbery.

The victim remains in stable condition.
