The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating six incidents in which a person has been robbed, and in two cases assaulted, while in their vehicle in the evening and early morning hours.
Incidents are reported to have occurred in the last two weeks along 20th Street West between Avenues R and P. The fourth occurred at 20th Street and Idylwyld Drive. The males driving the vehicles each had someone enter their vehicle, threaten them with a weapon and rob them of cash and personal items. The suspect was also assisted by at least one other person, most often a female. In the most recent case, the male victim was stabbed and his vehicle stolen.
Police are reminding residents to use caution when they are traveling alone late at night or early in the morning anywhere in the City. It is important for drivers to be aware of their surroundings, and keep their doors locked. If suspicious activity is noticed, drivers should leave the area and call police.
A GIS investigator is coordinating the efforts of police in the investigation.
