Victims Services Volunteers Needed

Since May of 1993 volunteers with the Saskatoon Police Service Victims Services program have been assisting the victims of crime. The program has grown over the years to include two staff members, 40 volunteers and two Aboriginal Resource Officers.

Victims Services provides information, support and referrals to victims of crime and traumatic events. Volunteers serve as facilitators and liaisons, helping victims maneuver through the Criminal Justice System.

The program is again accepting applications for volunteers.

Volunteers must pass a police security check and sign an Oath of Secrecy. Following that, they will be provided with classroom training, and job shadowing with experienced support workers.

Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to visit www.saskatoonpoliceservice.ca for more information and an application form, or call 975-8300.
