Male Charged After Robbery Complaint

The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating a robbery complaint which occurred in the 50 blk of Lief Erickson Place on September 21, 2007 at approximately 11:50pm. Two males were reported to have assaulted and robbed the victim of his ball cap, and were reported to be in possession of a silver handgun.

Following this, Saskatoon Police responded to a second complaint at approximately 00:15am in the 100 blk of Avenue R south were the complainant reported having a handgun pointed at him and the suspects were last seen walking southbound.

Persons matching the description were observed by a canine officer running into an apartment building in the 200 blk of Avenue R south. With the assistance of witness information, patrol members and the canine officer were able to determine which suite the suspects entered. Police removed a number of people from the apartment and seized a red ball cap and silver replica BB gun which matched the description from the first robbery complaint at Lief Erickson Place.

A 17 year old male was arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant, and a 22 year old male is charged with obstructing a police officer, and possession of a controlled substance. The adult male's next scheduled appearance in Provincial Court is October 9, 2007 at 9:00am in court room #1.

Investigation is ongoing into the original robbery complaint.
