The Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners is an independent body responsible for overseeing the Saskatoon Police Service on behalf of the people of Saskatoon. 

The Board is mandated by The Saskatchewan Police Act, 1990 to ensure the delivery of policing services within the municipality, provide general direction, policy, and priorities to the police service, and to develop long-term plans for the police service.

Developed by Sir Robert Peel, considered the father of modern policing, they focus on community development, relationship building, and prevention rather than a reaction to social problems.
