At approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 6th, Saskatoon Police responded to a 911 call reporting an injured male who was threatening to do further harm to himself.
Officers arrived at the residence in the 600 block of 10th Street East and found an injured 32 year old male holding a sharp edged weapon. The officers deployed pepper spray with no effect and had to use physical force to subdue the male and disarm him.
The male was transported to hospital by MD Ambulance with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition at this time. Due to the severity of the self inflicted injuries, the Service is reviewing the incident.
