A 23 year old Saskatoon man and a 24 year woman from Saskatoon are facing a number of charges following an investigation into fentanyl trafficking.
The two were arrested following an investigation by members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST). With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) and the Guns and Gangs Unit, two men were taken into custody at 112th Street and Egbert Avenue at approximately 4:20 p.m., December 7, 2017. Officers had witnessed what appeared to be activity consistent with drug transactions. The 23 year old man was found to be in possession of marihuana, cocaine, and fentanyl. A search warrant was then executed as a home on Rita Crescent. Inside, investigators located $930 in cash, 33 fentanyl pills, 4.6 grams of marihuana, 1.4 grams of cocaine as well as cell phones, scales and other drug paraphernalia. The 24 year old woman was arrested inside the home.
The 23 year old man is now facing charges including; trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
The 24 year old woman is facing charges including; possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
The other man was released with no charges.
