SIDEST Investigation Results In Five Arrests, Large Seizure Of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Cocaine, Marihuana And Cash

Five people have been arrested and charged following an investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST).

In April, SIDEST began an investigation into the trafficking of Fentanyl. On May 31, 2018, members of SIDEST observed activity consistent with drug trafficking in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue South and arrested two men, ages 30 and 33, during a vehicle stop.

As a result of the initial arrests, Police executed search warrants on an apartment in the 100 block 3rd Avenue South and a house in the 600 block of Gillies Way. Two men, ages 62 and 33, and a 60-year-old woman, were arrested from the home on Gillies Way.

As a result of the search warrants, Police seized over $400,000 in cash, 21kg of methamphetamine, approximately 4,400 Fentanyl pills, over 2,400 grams of powdered cocaine, and other significant amounts of crack cocaine, hash, marihuana and heroin. Police also seized a cocaine press and two vehicles.

Five people are facing drug-related and possession of proceeds of crime charges.
