The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating two shooting incidents that have occurred in recent days, both on Avenue G North.
On January 31, police were called to a home in the 900 block of Ave G. The homeowner had returned home after being away for an extended period of time. He discovered several holes in his front living room window, consistent with gunshot holes. Further investigation indicated that this incident may have occurred several days earlier when a neighbor had noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was described as a light colored, smaller pick-up truck with a beat-up appearance and decals on the rear window.
Just before midnight on Friday evening, February 2nd, police were called to the 1400 block of Ave G N. A resident there reported that multiple gunshots had been heard and that his home had been struck several times with bullets penetrating into the interior of the home. Despite the fact 6 adults and an infant were home at the time, there were no injuries. Description of a vehicle possibly related is vague; however it is thought to be a smaller hatch-back style.
Police do not believe the shootings are random and detectives from the Targeted Enforcement Section as well as the Guns and Gang detail are continuing with the investigation.
Anyone with any information related to these incidents is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Saskatoon Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
