Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section have charged two Saskatoon youths in connection with the March 12, 2019 death of 31-year-old Mark Enwaya.
On March 12, 2019 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Police responded to the 100 block of Avenue Q South for a report of an injured male. Police and Medavie Health Services West responded to the scene locating Mr. Enwaya who was declared deceased at the scene as a result of the discharge of a firearm. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today. (Correction: It was previously reported that the victim was transported to hospital where he was declared deceased.)
The subsequent investigation resulted in two male youth, ages 15 and 17, being arrested by patrol officers in the 200 block of Avenue S South. Both youth at the time of their arrest were found in possession of a firearm. The accused and the deceased are not believed to have known each other at the time of this incident.
Both accused are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court at 9:00 a.m., March 14, 2019. Both youth are facing charges of Second Degree Murder, and numerous firearm offences. (Court Info #'s: 991084218, 991084222).
Saskatoon Police are investigating the city’s 2nd homicide of 2019 following the discovery of an injured 31 year old man in an alleyway in the 100 block of Avenue Q South.
Police were called to the area at approximately 7:00 p.m., March 12, 2019, following a report of an injured man. Upon arrival officers located the injured male. He was transported to hospital by Medavie Ambulance where he was declared deceased.
Investigation by the Major Crimes Section has resulted in persons of interest being identified. Police remain on scene at two locations; the 100 block of Avenue Q South and the 200 block of Avenue S South.
