One man is in custody in connection to an aggravated assault that occurred last night.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., April 1, 2019, Saskatoon Police were dispatched to a convenience store in the 2300 block of 33rd Street West for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located a 29 year old male suffering from stab wounds. Medavie Health Services transported the victim to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled prior to Police arrival.
Police learned that a male entered the store and a verbal confrontation with the victim occurred. Both males then exited the store and engaged in a physical altercation, where it is believed the victim was stabbed. The investigation led officers to an apartment building in the 1100 block of Avenue W North where the male suspect was located attempting to hide. He was arrested without incident, and was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. The suspect and victim are believed to be known to each other.
The 21 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
