The Saskatoon Police Service is advising the public of a number of reported incidents where counterfeit American bills in a $50 denomination were used.
It is reported that the bills feel like regular paper and may be of varying sizes and/or with sloppy cut lines. So far, the ones that have been turned in to Police all have the same recurring serial numbers: MD31941004B, MD36623526B and MD32118894B.
It is believed there may be multiple persons passing these bills. One male is believed to be involved in three incidents at businesses located in the 100 and 200 blocks of Betts Avenue and the 1500 block Idylwyld Drive North. He is described as being approximately 6' in height with a thin build and a 'pock-marked' complexion. He was seen wearing a black hoodie with white bands on the sleeves, a black baseball hat and a carrying a backpack in a camouflage pattern.
Anyone with information on these incidents, or the suspect described, is asked to contact Saskatoon Police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
