On May 14, 2019 at 7:15 p.m., Saskatoon Police attended to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of 8th Street East and McKercher Drive.

While travelling southbound on McKercher Drive, the adult male operator of a vehicle suffered a medical emergency, causing him to lose control and crash into a light standard on the northwest corner. The vehicle's momentum carried it across the intersection into the oncoming lanes, where it struck two vehicles proceeding northbound on McKercher Drive.

No injuries occurred as a result of the collision, and the driver of the first vehicle was transported to hospital for the initial non life-threatening medical condition. The roadway was reopened a short time later.
