A 29 year old man is facing 10 criminal charges following an incident in which the driver of a stolen auto evaded police.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., May 25, 2019 officers on patrol spotted a Ford Crown Victoria parked in a lot in the 1200 block of Idylwyld Drive. The car had earlier been reported stolen. Officers pulled up to the car, however the driver collided with the patrol car and fled the parking lot. Officers again attempted to stop the vehicle, which continued to evade until hitting a tire deflation device which had been laid down at 19th Street and Avenue C. The male driver then fled the vehicle and attempted to escape by stealing a bicycle nearby before being brought into custody. Inside the vehicle officers located numerous knives and a replica firearm.

The man is now facing charges of evade police, possession of a weapon, breach of undertaking and breach of parole.
