Arrest- Evade Police- Stonebridge Common/Hartley Rd

A 35-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges after he evaded Police this evening.

At approximately 8:52p.m., June 1, 2019, police received a call of an erratic driver at Stonebridge Common and Hartley Road in a black Audi TT confirmed to be stolen. Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device at Highway 11 and Grasswood Road. The Air Support Unit observed the vehicle drive into the ditch near Floral Road and Range Road 3045 where the vehicle started on fire. The lone male fled the vehicle into a nearby farm yard where he was arrested with the assistance of K-9 without further incident.

The Saskatoon Fire Department attended to deal with the fire which did not spread beyond the vehicle.

The 35-year-old is facing charges of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police and Breach of Recognizance. He will appear before a Justice of the Peace on June 2, 2019.
