Saskatoon Police assisted RCMP members in the apprehension of two people who attempted to evade Police early this morning.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., June 10, 2019, Patrol members observed a stolen GMC Sierra bearing the incorrect licence plate. The SPS Air Support Unit (ASU) located the suspect vehicle and tracked it south of the city. A traffic stop was attempted by a Patrol member but the vehicle refused to stop for Police. ASU observed the suspect stop in various acreages/farmyards in search of fuel. They also observed item being thrown out the window of the suspect vehicle. An RCMP unit was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device on Meridian Road. The officer conducted a high-risk vehicle stop in a nearby yard and arrested the two occupants of the vehicle.
A 34 year old man and a 36 year old woman, both from St. Benedict, SK, were taken into RCMP custody.
