Arrest - VICE Investigation - Human Trafficking

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges of Human Trafficking following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service VICE Unit.

In March, the VICE unit began an investigation after receiving information that a 23-year-old woman was recruiting and trafficking three different women for the purpose of sexual exploitation between various cities in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Investigation found that victims were recruited in various ways including personal introductions and through social media. She is also alleged to have stolen money and personal belongings in an effort to maintain control over the victims.

The victims are two 20-year-old women from Quebec and an 18-year-old woman from Moose Jaw, SK.

The 23-year-old woman has ties to Quebec and may go by the name ‘Mina’. She is charged with three counts each of Trafficking Persons, Uttering Threats and Theft Over $5000. She will appear before a Justice of the Peace this evening. (Court Info # 991093528)

Police are concerned that there may be additional victims related to this case or others, and encourage anyone affected to report to Police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
