Public Advisory - Cougar Sighting In Meewasin Park

Further to the previous public advisory regarding the cougar sightings, Saskatoon Police Service Patrol officers and the Air Support Unit with the assistance of the Ministry of Environment searched the area along the riverbank for the animals however none were located.

Police have left the area and the public is asked to be mindful of the wildlife along the riverbank during recreational activities. 

At approximately 2:40 p.m. on June 23, 2019, the Saskatoon Police Service responded to a report of two cougars in Meewasin Park, north of the pavilion in the 2700 block of Spadina Crescent East.

At this time the report is unconfirmed however a Conservation Officer from the Ministry of Environment is responding and police are in the area searching for the animals. The public is asked to avoid the area at this time.
