Injured Male - Under Investigation

A 21 year old male, who Saskatoon Police had initially taken into custody, has been charged with Second Degree Murder as a result of this investigation.

He has seen a Justice of the Peace, and is remanded until his next court appearance on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

SPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate the death of a 47 year old man found injured in the 1700 block of 20th Street West this morning at approximately 4:00 am and have ruled it as a homicide.

 An autopsy to determine the cause of death has been ordered by the Office of the Chief Coroner and will take place Wednesday July 3, 2019.

Through evidence obtained by the Police, an adult male suspect was located and arrested.  The investigation continues.

Police are asking anyone that may have information regarding this incident to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 and ask to speak to an investigator in Major Crimes or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Saskatoon police received a 911 call at approximately 4:00 am this morning regarding a male found injured in the 1700 block of 20th Street West. Police and Medavie services responded and attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. SPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Services have been called out and are continuing with the investigation.
