Homicide Investigation

The victim of this homicide is 27 years of age not 25 as stated in the previous release.

Saskatoon Police Major Crimes have arrested and charged a 28 year old male with Second Degree murder in relation to Saskatoon's most recent homicide.

On the morning of August 1st, police were called to a hotel on Airport Drive in response to an injured male in one of the hotel rooms.  Upon arrival they found a 25 year old male who was deceased.  An autopsy was conducted yesterday to determine the cause of death. 

Further, yesterday evening, patrol members located the suspect and another person of interest, in the investigation, at a residence in the 200 block of Avenue S North where they were both arrested without incident.

The accused and the victim were known to each other.

The accused will be in court for first appearance today at 2:00 pm.  Information number #991135569

At approximately 7:20 am this morning, Saskatoon police were called to a hotel in the 2000 block of Airport drive in response to an injured male in one of the hotel rooms. Police and Medavie services attended and the injured male was declared deceased at scene. The incident has been deemed a homicide.

SPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Services have been called out to investigate and are currently on scene. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
