Two Arrested - Evade Police/Stolen Auto - 33rd Street And 1st Avenue North

At approximately 1:30 p.m., February 12, 2020, Patrol officers responded to a break and enter in the 1600 block of Avenue C North. Upon arrival, a suspicious vehicle was observed leaving the area. When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle fled and was observed driving erratically and at high speeds. The vehicle was located abandoned a few minutes later in the area of 33rd Street and Quebec Avenue and two individuals were observed walking a short distance away. The male was recognized by Officers as the driver. Both were taken into custody without further incident.

Further investigation found that both the vehicle and license plate had been reported stolen.

A 28-year-old male is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Breach of Conditional Sentence Order and Breach of Probation. A 27-year-old woman is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 (x2).
