Arrest: SAU Investigation Into Shooting / Injured Male - 100 Block Pawlychenko Lane

The Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit has charged a man in connection to a shooting that took place in August.

On August 5th, 2022, at approximately 2:45 a.m., a now 26-year-old man, was shot in the 100 block of Pawlychenko Lane. As a result of an investigation by the SPS Serious Assault Unit, a 36-year-old man was arrested and is now charged with Attempted Murder, Recklessly Discharging a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.

A 36 year old male has been taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 700 block of Evergreen Blvd.

The man was wanted in connection with investigations by the Serious Assault Unit and was also wanted on Canada-wide arrest warrants.

Members of the Tactical Support Unit and the Crisis NegotiationTeam had responded to the scene to assist.  The man complied with police instruction and was taken into custody.

The Saskatoon Police Service is advising members of the public to avoid the area around the 700 block of Evergreen Blvd. at this time, due to a police presence in an ongoing criminal investigation.

The Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit is investigating after a shooting that took place early this morning.

On August 5th, 2022, at approximately 2:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the 100 block of Pawlychenko Lane, for the report of gunshots. Officers arrived on scene to find a 25-year-old man suffering from injuries, consistent with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services in stable condition. The suspect had fled the scene.

The SPS Serious Assault Unit continues to investigate and believes the victim and suspect are known to one another. The SPS asks anyone with information regarding this incident to contact 306-975-8300 or anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
