Correction - Suspicious Death

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is asking the public for information in regards to the city’s most recent homicide.

On December 21, 2022 the body of 50 year old Randy Jack GUNN was located in the north alley of the 300 block of 20th Street West. The suspicious death investigation into the discovery of a 50-year-old man found unresponsive in an alley near 20th Street West and Avenue C South is now the city’s 12th homicide incident and 13th homicide death of 2022. Next-of-kin notifications have been completed and police will not be releasing the victim’s name at this time.

Anyone with information or video evidence believed to be relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. In an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.

The date in the previous release should be Dec 21, 2022.

The Saskatoon Police Service, including members from Patrol, Forensic identification Section and the Major Crime Section are investigating the discovery of a body in an alley adjacent to 20th Street near Ave. C.  Police were called to the area just before 1:30 p.m., December 22, 2022 by a passerby.  At this point there are very few details however police are treating the death as suspicious.  There will be a significant police presence in the area for the next few hours.
