The incident took place on Saturday April 29, 2023, not Sunday as previously stated.
The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a man who was observed carrying a firearm on Sunday.
On April 29, 2023, at around 9:30 p.m., police received the report of a man carrying and pointing a firearm near the intersection of 20th Street East and 1st Avenue South. Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old man, in the area, matching the description of the suspect. He appeared to have a rifle strapped to his back. Police were able to safely arrest him without further incident. In his possession was a lever action rifle.
The 22-year-old man is charged with Pointing a Firearm, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, and Breach of Conditions.
