A man is facing charges after police responded to a break and enter in progress yesterday morning.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., July 18, 2023, patrol officers responded to a report of a person inside a residence in the 400 block of Shea Crescent. When police arrived, they observed a man inside and gave him commands to exit the residence. Instead, he fled out of a second storey window into a neighbouring backyard. A SPS canine unit apprehended the man as he attempted to scale another fence in an attempt to evade arrest.

The 29-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries consistent with a dog bite before being transported to SPS Detention. He is is charged with Break and Enter, Obstruction, and breach of court orders (x2). (Court Info # 991238139).
