ASU/Patrol Arrests - Evade Police Incidents

The Air Support Unit assisted in arrests following two evade police incidents over the weekend.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., January 27, 2023, officers on Patrol observed a stolen 2004 Chevrolet Colorado at Idylwyld Drive North and Minto Place. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver refused to stop for Police and began driving erratically. Members of the Air Support Unit (ASU) immediately began tracking the suspect vehicle which stopped in the 1700 block of 20th Street West.

The 31-year-old male passenger was released without charges. The 26-year-old female driver was found concealing a large knife when she was taken into custody without incident.

She is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Breach of Undertaking.

The next night, at approximately 7:00 p.m., January 28, 2023, another stolen truck was spotted by members on Patrol, leaving a business in the 100 block of Avenue F South. ASU began monitoring the 2007 Dodge Ram after the driver refused to stop for Police. Tire deflation devices were deployed before the driver got stuck in a back alley in the 200 block of Carleton Drive. He attempted to flee in a backyard but members of ASU guided ground units to the suspect’s location where he was arrested without incident.

A 33-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Evade Police and Dangerous Driving.
