Investigators with the Serious Assault Unit have upgraded the previous charge of Aggravated Assault to Attempted Murder. Further investigation revealed that the suspect and victim are not known to each other.
The 26-year-old accused will make his first appearance in provincial court tomorrow morning.
A man was arrested today following a stabbing incident last night.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., August 20, 2023, Patrol officers responded to the 300 block of Avenue C S for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Police located a 32-year-old man on the sidewalk suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male suspect fled on foot, but was later arrested at approximately 12:30 p.m., August 21, 2023.
The 26-year-old man is charged with Aggravated Assault.
