A 32 year old man and a 30 year old woman are facing a number of firearm related charges following an investigation by the SPS Guns and Gangs Unit.
On December 27, 2023, investigators, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in 1000 block of 23rd Street West. The male and female were arrested without incident. A search of the home located a loaded, sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
The two are charged with eight firearms offences including; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon with Readily Accessible Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited.
They are expected to appear in court on December 28, 2023.
