Weapons/Methamphetamine Seized - 600 Block Taylor Street East

A male and a female are facing charges following a traffic stop overnight.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., December 3, 2025, Saskatoon Police received a report of suspicious activity in the 2000 block of St. Charles Avenue. A resident reported unknown persons approaching their home trying to locate a cell phone. One of the persons was seen in possession of a machete. While en route officers learned the suspects left the area in a taxi. A traffic stop of the taxi was then conducted in the 600 block of Taylor Street East. Two male and one female passenger exited the vehicle. A 32 year old man was found to be in possession of a machete and an expandable baton. The female was found to be in possession of a loaded, sawed-off rifle and crystal methamphetamine.

The male is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace (x2) and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (x2). He will appear in court at a later date after being released on an undertaking.

The woman is charged with seven firearm related charges and one charge of possession of methamphetamine. She will appear in Provincial Court today.

The second male was released without charges.
