One man has been arrested following a traffic stop yesterday.
At around 5:15 p.m. on December 7, 2025, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1500 block of 16th Street West. While attempting to identify the driver, the vehicle fled the traffic stop a short distance before spinning out at the intersection of 17th Street West and Avenue E South; the occupants then fled on foot. A search of the vehicle located an imitation firearm, knife, and ammunition. Following a track by a police service dog, a suspect was located hiding under a barbecue cover in the back yard of a residence in the 500 block of Avenue E South; he was subsequently arrested and later treated by a paramedic in Detention for minor injuries consistent with a dog bite.
As a result, the 33-year-old man has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (x2), possession of ammunition while prohibited, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
