Following months of continued investigation by the Serious Assault Unit, a second man wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in April of this year has been arrested.
On December 10, 2025, members of the Community Mobilization Unit assigned to Project Shield were conducting a retail crime blitz in the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North when they observed a man committing a theft. Upon attempting to effect his arrest, the man fled into a nearby field; a short foot pursuit followed and the man was ultimately arrested without further incident. Further investigation determined that the man was wanted on several warrants, including in connection to the shooting.
As a result, the 28-year-old man has been charged with intentionally discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, aggravated assault, armed robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and breach of conditions. He was also wanted for escaping lawful custody and was further charged for theft under $5,000 as a result of the retail crime blitz.
