A 41 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following an incident in which a driver evaded Police overnight.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., March 4, 2026, an officer on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of 8th Street East. The officer then attempted a traffic stop of the black Chrysler 200 when it turned onto McPherson Avenue. The driver was slow to pull over and when he did, a male and a female exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver then sped away when the officer began approaching the vehicle. The suspect vehicle began evading and driving in a reckless manner in the area of Wilson Crescent and Preston Avenue. The driver attempted to overtake a snowplow, however his tires had been successfully damaged by officers earlier in the incident and he lost control, ending up on the median. The male then attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.
The male was found to be wanted on several warrants. He is believed to have been under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.
The man is now charged with Possession of Bear Spray, Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, Evade Police and Breach of Court Conditions (x2).
