Police are investigating following a civilian vehicle chase that led to an assault.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on March 5, 2026, police were called to the 400 block of Witney Avenue North following multiple reports of altercations between the occupants of two vehicles. Information was received that a civilian vehicle had been chasing another before intentionally striking it in the 400 block of Witney Avenue. An occupant then exited the vehicle and began assaulting the driver of the vehicle that had been struck. Upon arrival, officers located the victim of the assault suffering from non-life-threatening injuries; the other involved vehicle fled prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, officers learned that a confrontational exchange took place in the area of 22nd Street West and Idylwyld Drive North between two parties before one began chasing the other in their vehicles. During the chase, multiple uninvolved parked vehicles were struck and damaged.

Both parties are believed to have been known to one another and police are continuing to investigate.
