One man has been arrested following an impaired driving investigation on the weekend.
At around 5:00 a.m. on January 10, 2026, police were called to the intersection of 8th Street East and Broadway Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle with an unconscious male driver sitting stationary in a driving lane. Officers were attempting to wake the man by knocking on the glass when the vehicle began rolling forward; ultimately coming to a stop against a snow bank a short distance away. As officers continued efforts to get the man’s attention, he woke, acknowledged their presence, and accelerated away into oncoming driving lanes. Following a brief evade police incident, the man stopped at the intersection of Wilson Crescent and Clarence Avenue South and was arrested without further incident.
Following the continuation of an impaired driving investigation, the 20-year-old man was charged with impaired driving, exceeding .08, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and evading police.
