Members of the Serious Assault Unit are investigating two separate incidents involving suspects forcibly entering homes and assaulting the victims with a machete.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., January 26, 2026, Police were called to the 3100 block of Laurier Drive. Upon arrival they located a 33 year old male with serious but non life-threatening injuries. He reported being inside an apartment when three males entered and assaulted him with a machete. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., January 27, 2026, Police were called to a residence in the 1600 block of 22nd Street West. A male reported that 6-7 persons entered his suite and assaulted him with a machete. The 46 year old victim suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries. He was also transported to hospital for treatment.
