Saskatoon Police arrested a woman who is now facing numerous charges relating to an evade police incident overnight.
On June 2, 2026 at around 3:35 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle as it travelled in an alley between Avenue J and Avenue I. The vehicle did not stop for police and members of the Air Support Unit (ASU) began monitoring the vehicle from the sky.
ASU continued to monitor the vehicle as is travelled at a high rate of speed on Circle Drive before entering a residential area near 39th Street West. The vehicle eventually stopped and two female passengers exited and were detained shortly after. A patrol car initiated a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle once again began to evade police.
The vehicle continued to evade and officers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device near 29th Street West and Avenue H South. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the area between 22nd Street West and 23rd Street West near Montreal Avenue. The driver exited the vehicle and began to run away before being arrested shortly after.
A search of the suspect vehicle resulted in police locating a taser and a can of bear spray.
As a result, the 27-year-old woman has been charged with evading police, dangerous driving, operating a vehicle while being prohibited from doing so, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
