Two men have been arrested and face charges in relation to an aggravated assault at a residence over the weekend.
On June 7, 2026 at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Hilliard Street for a report of an unknown problem. It was reported to police that there was an intruder in the home with a golf club. Further updates outlined that the intruder was the downstairs tenant and was injured.
Police arrived on scene and located a man on the front lawn with what were serious but later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by paramedics for further medical treatment.
Two men were arrested on scene.
Through further investigation, officers learned the victim reportedly entered the residence with a golf club before a physical altercation ensued between the victim and the two men already inside the residence.
It is believed that the men were known to each other.
As a result, the 56-year-old man and 33-year-old man were arrested at the scene and have been charged with aggravated assault. The 56-year-old has also been charged with careless storage of a firearm.
