Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Patrol and Guns & Gangs Unit have charged a youth male with numerous firearms related offences following an investigation into a shooting that occurred last Friday.
On June 12, 2026 at approximately 7:50 a.m., police responded to a weapons complaint in the 3800 block of Fairlight Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown male had attended the residence and presented a firearm. It was also learned that bear spray had been discharged.
Through continued investigation, officers learned the male encountered another male at the entrance of the residence before a brief physical altercation occurred. During the altercation, the male that attended pulled out a firearm. At that point the male from the residence discharged bear spray at the other. The other male then fired a shot which struck the residence.
Both males then fled the scene prior to police arrival. There are not believed to have been any injuries as a result of this incident. Responding officers also located evidence that a firearm had been discharged.
Through further investigation, a warrant to arrest was issued for the male who discharged the firearm. As a result, a 17-year-old male was apprehended in Regina by Regina Police Service on his outstanding warrant.
The 17-year-old male has been charged with multiple Criminal Code firearms offences.
