One man was arrested following an assault on a police officer yesterday.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on June 24, 2026, police were called to a business in the 3100 block of 8th Street East for a report of a man believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant causing a disturbance. Upon police arrival, the man immediately became verbally confrontational and refused to cooperate. As an officer attempted to effect his arrest, the man began assaulting the officer and damaging police equipment. Additional officers arrived on scene and assisted in his arrest.

As a result, the 42-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with Assaulting a Police Officer and Mischief Under $5,000.
