Arrests - Stolen Vehicle / Evade Police - 200 Block Avenue V South

Two people were arrested following an evade police incident early this morning.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on June 26, 2026, police observed a vehicle occupied by two people parked in an alley in the 200 block of Avenue V South. The vehicle was then seen leaving the alley immediately after. As officers positioned themselves behind the vehicle and confirmed it to be stolen, the vehicle suddenly took off at a high rate of speed before a traffic stop could be initiated. The vehicle was later observed in an alley in the 200 block of Avenue X North where a man and woman were seen fleeing from it. The male suspect was arrested without incident a short distance away. A police service dog was then used to locate both the female suspect as well as a discarded firearm within close proximity to her; she was later transported to hospital for injuries consistent with a dog bite.

As a result, the 21-year-old woman has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Evading Police, Dangerous Driving, Possession of a Firearm Without a License, Knowingly Occupying a Motor Vehicle in Which a Firearm is Present Without a License Holder. The 21-year-old man has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Knowingly Occupying a Motor Vehicle in Which a Firearm is Present Without a License Holder, and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
