One man has been arrested following an incident in which bear spray was discharged on a city bus earlier this month.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. on June 10, 2026, police received a report of a man being bear sprayed on a city bus. Further investigation found that the suspect had verbally confronted the victim before bear spraying them and fleeing. Police obtained video evidence of the incident and, through continued investigation, identified the suspect. Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, the suspect turned themselves in at the SPS HQ.

As a result, a 21-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.
